So the Canucks are 6-0 in pre-season, Demitra/Raymond and Pyatt have been a very good trio thus far. While Luongo is godly, as usual.
I'm excited for this season, and I look forward to finishing above Minnesota.

Hockey Talk is the right place to start this thread. Any Canucks thread accidentally started in HT can just be dumped into this one.

It will probably stay in this forum until some trolls stroll in and ruin it for the rest of you, likely landing it in Trash Talk.

Did Rickys thread last year get moved for this reason?
DJ's "Canucks don't care about MN" originated in Trash Talk if I recall correctly. Or is that not the thread you're referencing?
QUOTE (cehnehdeh @ Oct 3 2008, 09:38 PM)

I personally see no reason to even post in any of the other Canuck threads now.
"Sundin Signs" and "Canucks Offseason" are irrelevent now.
I'd prefer to delete the others altogether if they get bumped as this thread starts at the regular season. IF Kev merged em this thread would have 30 pages of junk already!
I dont mind sacrificing a few hundred posts if need be.
Did that make any sense?
Let all those other threads get buried. What I meant (and OTH clarified) is that any
future Canucks threads started in Hockey Talk should be merged in here.

A lot of people will be very suprised with how well this team does. And I have been saying this since before the 6-0 pre-season record even came up.
If we can stay healthy we have what it takes to do some damage.

This team should do pretty well, and with the room to add more talent .

There is no way we can stay healthy...not in the northwest division, something is going to happen and someone is going to get injured.
I'm just glad we have alot more depth at all positions this season....maybe less on defence because of the passing or Bourdon (RIP, Luc we'll miss ya.)
but for the most part unless the Sedins get injured we wont be too bad.
Lets hope we dont have any freak injuries like what happened to Bieksa and Salo last season, those will kill ya.
I'm all with ya, i've known from before pre-season that this team was a much bigger upgrade from last seasons team, no doubt about it.

It means a lot when you have a whole lot of newcomers and young guys coming in looking for confidence, winning is the best thing for that, just because their not playing for points doesn't mean both teams aren't going for the win, especially playing against teams in your own division.
Also the Canucks went up against a pretty stacked Calgary team and still got the W without their top line and top 4 D men, same deal with San Jose and about 2 or 3 other teams. If you actually watch them play you can see the difference, these guys are working hard out there, the grit shows, the speed shows, the work ethic is there. Although i'm not getting overly excited about the pre-season, i can asure you, it does mean something.

I agree. I notice in the NFL (I know it's not the NHL) that teams that do well in the preseason don't do well in the regular season and vice versa.

Hey, if you bothered to read my entire post you'd have noticed I said I thought this was a good Canucks team BEFORE the whole 6-0 pre-season thing ever happened.
I know pre-season means nothing, but as of now it's the only indicator we have as to how teams will do.
And the funny thing is, lately we have been playing with not even full rosters while teams like SJ and Calgary(6-1 Canucks) were playing with a roster minus 1-2 players. And the Canucks were sitting key players, such as our top 4 defenseman AND the Sedin/Sedin/Bernier line.
Watch and see what this team can do.

Oct 5 2008, 08:21 PM
He got a boarding penalty even though it wasn't even AGAINST the boards. Perry's body was parallel with the boards and Mattias hit him face to face with shoulders to the boards..
5 to Ohlund for boarding
2 to Moen for roughing
Which is very odd since they both dropped the gloves, and Moen jersied Ohlund and was throwing punches...go figure..
